Brady Quinn is expected to meet with the Cleveland Browns this week.
Two league sources told Yahoo Sports that rumors of Quinn’s draft stock falling are false. “The kid did his part,” one source said in response to the idea that Quinn didn’t win big games in college. “He played very well. Was he great every time? No, but nobody is. The fact is that Notre Dame didn’t have nearly the talent that a bunch of other teams had.”

“Pretty solid sources” in the Raiders’ organization reportedly say Calvin Johnson is atop the club’s draft board by “a clear-cut margin.”
This comes from ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli; ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said the same in a recent online chat. Pasquarelli contends the bigger debate is whether JaMarcus Russell or Brady Quinn is the top QB prospect.

An NFL source tells Raiders beat writer Jerry McDonald that coach Lane Kiffin is in favor of drafting Brady Quinn with the No. 1 overall pick.
The consensus top prospect before being outplayed by JaMarcus Russell in the Sugar Bowl and Calvin Johnson’s decision to leave school early, Quinn visited with the Raiders on Tuesday. He would seem a better fit for coordinator Greg Knapp’s West Coast offense than Russell.

Brady Quinn ran forties of 4.82 and 4.73 at his second Pro Day.
Quinn shuttled 20 yards in 4.22, .36 seconds faster than Marshawn Lynch at the Combine. He had a 36-inch vertical and broad jumped nine feet, seven inches. We have a hard time seeing Quinn fall out of the top three.

ESPN’s John Clayton says he doesn’t see a deal getting done between the Browns and first-round pick Brady Quinn before the start of training camp.
Depending on his agent’s approach, Quinn may be in for a prolonged holdout, which could kill his chances to start before midseason. Clayton says talks between Oakland and JaMarcus Russell will pick up in the next week.

The Washington Post reports a “source familiar with the deliberations” says Oakland has not been in contact with LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell as of this afternoon.
The Raiders are reportedly in contract talks with Brady Quinn, who may be willing to take a small amount less than Russell to be the No. 1 pick. Raiders coach Lane Kiffin is also believed to favor Quinn over Russell.

The Miami Herald and ESPN dispute a report posted on the Washington Post’s website that Brady Quinn conversed with the Raiders on Friday.
Quinn reportedly only spoke with the Browns and Dolphins QBs coach Terry Shea, who tutored him during the pre-draft process. Apparently there was a rumor that Quinn had agreed to a contract with Oakland.
  • FA Tight End
Tim Tebow has replaced an ineffective Kyle Orton in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
At long last, it’s Tebow time. Orton has been absolutely brutal today, making poor decisions, getting picked off once and having a few more passes nearly intercepted. Now coach John Fox is turning to Tebow to provide a spark. Although his passing mechanics and footwork are messy, Tebow’s running ability makes him a must-add in fantasy. In three starts last season, Tebow averaged 217.0 yards passing per game, 66.3 yards rushing and scored seven total touchdowns.

Kyle Orton will serve as Tim Tebow’s backup in Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.
Orton lost his starting job, but he’s still the backup. Brady Quinn will not be active as the No. 3 quarterback today.

Free agent QB Brady Quinn will visit the Jets on Friday.
We’re starting to see the real cost of the Mark Sanchez “apology” extension. The Jets’ hands are now tied in bringing in a legitimate insurance policy as the top backup. Instead, they’re courting third-string types such as Quinn and Drew Stanton. Quinn’s visit was canceled when the Jets signed Stanton.
