Jets claimed TE Braedon Bowman off waivers from the Jaguars.
Bowman was getting some roster hype in Jacksonville before ultimately being let go at final cuts. He slides into Jace Amaro’s old roster spot. Despite also adding TE Brian Parker from the Chiefs, the Jets still have a smoldering crater at tight end. Both could see snaps at some point this season.

Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times Union expects undrafted TE Braedon Bowman to make the Jaguars’ 53-man roster.
Bowman turned heads by making a David Tyree-esque touchdown catch at OTAs while also contributing as a blocker. “We like him; he’s intriguing to us,” said head coach Gus Bradley. “We don’t have a fullback on our roster so what we’re still trying to figure out with Bowman is, can he be the guy that plays the tight end spot and then at times gives us the fullback that we like to incorporate?” Bradley snared 11 catches in 12 games as a senior at South Alabama last season. Nic Jacobs and Ben Koyack are also competing for a spot at tight end.

    Jets waived TE Braedon Bowman.
An UDFA, Bowman made noise during shorts and t-shirts season in Jacksonville, but couldn’t cut it in the preseason. The 22-year-old prospect will hunt for practice squad work.

Chargers TE Braedon Bowman was a standout during offseason workouts.
Bowman spent all last year on the Chargers’ practice squad. It’s not the first time Bowman has flashed in non-contact practices, but Hunter Henry’s injury gives him a path to a roster spot. Bowman could be a name to watch this preseason.
