Giants signed OF Brandon Guyer to a minor league contract.
Guyer didn’t play in the majors last year and didn’t latch on with another team after a brief stint with the Triple-A affiliate of the White Sox. Still, the 34-year-old is a proven bat against lefties. He’s not a bad depth piece.

White Sox signed OF Brandon Guyer to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Guyer is coming off a couple of rough, injury-riddled seasons in Cleveland, but he rakes left-handed pitching and should fit into a corner-outfield platoon with Chicago. The 33-year-old is not relevant in standard fantasy leagues. Still, it’s a nice real-life addition for the White Sox at next to no financial risk.

Indians declined the $3 million club option on OF Brandon Guyer for 2019.
He’ll receive a $250,000 buyout and hit free agency. Guyer turns 33 in January and batted just .206/.300/.371 in 103 games this season, but he’s a useful right-handed bat and shouldn’t have much of a problem finding a bench job this winter.
