Again, they’ll take what they can get. Sanford, 26, is a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive line ‘tweener at 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds. The Seahawks did try trading for Sanford in August, but the deal was rescinded when John Moffitt failed his Browns physical. Sanford will add depth to a pathetic Raiders D-Line.

Paxson was waived/injured. Sanford appeared in five games last season, making three tackles. A reserve nose tackle, Paxson suited up for all 16 games in 2011, tallying 21 tackles and a sack.

The extent of Sanford’s knee injury was never revealed. Sanford, 25, was a run-stopping end at 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds. He also played on special teams.

Sanford takes the roster spot vacated by Scott Fujita (neck, injured reserve). The 25-year-old made five tackles in five games with Cleveland last season.

Sanford has a history with the Browns as he spent 2010-2012 with them appearing in six games and spending time on the practice squad. He was traded to the Seahawks in August, but the deal was voided when John Moffitt failed his physical. Sanford was then waived and landed with the Raiders, who cut him loose in November. Now the rotational end and special teamer is back where it all started.

Sanford appeared in four games as a situational run stopper, but hasn’t been active since Week 5. OL Jack Cornell was promoted from the practice squad to take his spot on the 53-man roster.

Sanford (6-foot-2, 280) can play inside and outside and has 12 games of regular season experience between the Browns and Raiders. The 26-year-old will compete for one of the final spots on Denver’s 53-man roster.

The Browns are populating their offseason roster with upside youngsters instead of retread veterans. Hughes appeared in one game for the Eagles last season before being released with an injury settlement. Sanford notched eight tackles in six games between the Browns and Raiders.

A 6-foot-2, 280-pound situational run stuffer and special teamer, Sanford was buried in Cleveland behind Ahtyba Rubin, Desmond Bryant, Billy Wynn, and John Hughes. Sanford should be stretched to make Seattle’s final 53-man roster.

Moffitt failed his physical, and his rights have reverted to the Seahawks. Sanford’s rights have reverted to the Browns. Considering Cleveland’s issues at guard, their examination of Moffitt must have turned up something major. It’s unclear what the Seahawks plan to do with Moffitt, but he could be waived.
