Ole Miss HC Matt Luke announced that redshirt senior S C.J. Moore will miss Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Monroe with a torn pectoral muscle.
This is the second torn pectoral muscle injury for Moore. The 5-foot-11, 191-pound junior could miss anywhere from two weeks to the entire season, according to Luke. It would be a significant loss for the Ole Miss defense, as Moore is considered one of the stalwarts of the Rebels’ secondary who also helps in the run game. Redshirt freshman Kam White is expected to get the start in Moore’s place.

The Clarion-Ledger’s Daniel Paulling reports that Ole Miss junior S C.J. Moore underwent surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle over the weekend.
Per Paulling, the surgery and subsequent rehabilitation time could sideline Moore for the entirety of the 2016 campaign. A three-star recruit out of high school, the 5-foot-11, 193-pounder initially joined the Rebels as a quarterbacking and linebacking prospect before making the switch to safety. True freshman Myles Hartsfield, who Moore was backing up, is expected to start at strong safety for the coming campaign.
