    Rangers released INF/OF Chase d’Arnaud.
The 32-year-old utilityman was batting just .164/.275/.316 with 54 strikeouts in 45 games this season at Triple-A Nashville. He may have to move to independent ball or somewhere overseas to continue his playing career.

Chase d’Arnaud (oblique) is now a “full go” in Rangers’ camp.
D’Arnaud was shut down at the start of camp with an oblique issue, but he’s finally healed. The 32-year-old is hoping to compete for a utility infielder job this spring.
  • MLB 2nd Baseman #6
Chase d’Arnaud reported to Rangers’ camp with an oblique issue and is likely 10-14 days away from being “full go.”
Not the most positive development as d’Arnaud attempts to win a roster spot this spring. The 32-year-old signed a minor league deal with the Rangers over the offseason after batting .215/.253/.366 in 93 at-bats for the Giants last season.

Rangers signed infielder Chase d’Arnaud to a minor league contract.
D’Arnaud, a veteran utilityman, hit .215/.253/.366 in 93 at-bats for the Giants last season. He could be the Rangers’ 25th man if things break right for him, but it’s more likely that he’ll open up back in Triple-A.

Chase d’Arnaud has elected free agency.
D’Arnaud was taken off the Giants’ 40-man roster and has decided to look for a job elsewhere rather than accept an outright assignment. The utility infielder will surely have to settle for a minor league contract.
  • SF Shortstop
Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes that the Pirates are unlikely to pick up Ronny Cedeno’s $3 million club option for 2012.
Not a big surprise. While capable with the glove, Cedeno is batting just .257/.306/.351 with two homers, 31 RBI and a .657 OPS over 423 plate appearances this season. They could pay the $200,000 buyout and attempt to bring him back at a lesser salary or just go with either Brandon Wood or Chase d’Arnaud at shortstop.

Pirates optioned INF Chase d’Arnaud to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 25-year-old infielder had three hits in 10 at-bats this spring. He batted just .217/.242/.287 with six RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .528 OPS over 151 plate appearances at the big league level last season. He’d be an option if the Pirates suffer any injuries to their infield.

Pirates optioned INF Chase d’Arnaud to High-A Bradenton.
The 25-year-old infielder was sent down as the Pirates added right-hander Kyle McPherson and outfielder Alex Presley to the roster Friday. He didn’t appear in a game during his brief stint with the big club.

Pirates recalled INF Chase d’Arnaud from Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 25-year-old infielder is filling the roster spot left vacant by Erik Bedard, who was released late Monday night. He is doubtful to carry any fantasy value.

Pirates recalled INF Chase d’Arnaud from Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 25-year-old will provide infield depth for the Pirates down the stretch. He batted .252/.325/.383 with six homers and 38 RBI in 98 games this season at Triple-A.
