Raiders signed California QB Chase Garbers.
It was surprising to see Garbers (6’2/225) not invited to the Combine, though he did perform well in front of scouts at the NFLPA Bowl. Garbers’ final season with the Golden Bears was the best of his career as he completed 64.1% of his passes for 2,531 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions. While his decision-making has been off at times in the face of pressure, Garbers has checked the box on several other aspects of quarterbacking and brings a wide variety of traits that should make him appealing to teams at the next level. His tough running style and high football IQ in addition to his improvements as a passer should help him transition well and make the most of a shot in camp.
