Rays and RHP Chaz Roe avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2,185,200 contract.
That’s definitely one of the most specific salaries we’ve seen this offseason. Roe, 33, appeared in 71 games for the Rays in 2019 with a 4.06 ERA and 65/31 K/BB ratio in 51 innings pitched. He should be a weapon against right-handed hitters for Tampa Bay again in 2020. Roe is eligible for arbitration again in 2021 before hitting free agency in 2022.

Chaz Roe is scheduled to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery on Wednesday.
Roe made just one relief appearance this year for the Rays, back on April 2, before going on the injured list with a shoulder issue. The 34-year-old right-hander is scheduled to become a free agent this winter.

Chaz Roe was pulled off of his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham after experiencing right shoulder discomfort during his outing on Thursday.
The right-hander underwent an MRI and received an injection in his right biceps. The Rays hope to have an update on his status in a couple of days depending on the level of improvement that he shows from the injection. This will likely sideline him for the remainder of the first half of the season.

Chaz Roe’s rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham has been delayed to renewed shoulder soreness.
But the Rays are optimistic that Roe will be fine -- and able to begin appearing in minor league games -- after a couple days of rest. He’s been sidelined since early April due to a right shoulder strain.

Chaz Roe (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Durham.
Roe went down in early April with a right shoulder strain, but he’s back to full health now and ready to rock for game action. He should be a factor in the Rays’ bullpen before too much longer.

Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters Saturday that Oliver Drake (elbow) and Chaz Roe (shoulder) threw off a mound for the first time on Saturday morning.
Cash also added that both relievers are still “a ways away” before any potential return. Drake has been out since last postseason due to a right flexor strain, while Roe has been sidelined since early April due to a right shoulder strain. Barring any setbacks, they should be able to return to the Rays’ bullpen at some point this summer.

Rays transferred RHP Chaz Roe from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Roe could be out up to 12 weeks due to a right shoulder strain, so this move doesn’t impact his timetable in returning.

Chaz Roe (shoulder) will be shut down from throwing for six weeks.
It could be twice that long before he’s ready to rejoin the Rays’ bullpen. Roe landed on the injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain and he’s going to be on the shelf for a while. He’s a weapon against right-handed batters, so it’s a blow to the Rays’ bullpen.

Rays placed RHP Chaz Roe on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.
Roe was knocked around a bit last Friday in his lone appearance this season, so it’s possible he hasn’t been feeling right for a little while. It’s not clear how long the slider specialist might be sidelined.

Rays re-signed RHP Chaz Roe to a one-year, $1.15 million contract.
The deal was reported on Sunday and is now official. Roe, 34, missed time with elbow issues last season while posting a 2.89 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 9/3 K/BB ratio across 9 1/3 innings. The Rays are hopeful he’ll go back to being a weapon against right-handers out of their bullpen.
