Clay Buchholz turned in five innings of one-run baseball to snare a win against the Rays on Sunday.
He fanned six, walked one and surrendered four base hits to finish the season strong. He served up a solo dinger to Ji-Man Choi for the only damage on his line. Buccholz missed most of the season due to a shoulder injury and wasn’t very effective when able to take the mound. He went 2-5 with a 6.56 ERA in 12 starts. He struck out just 39 batters in 59 innings. He has been injury-prone throughout his career but has been dominant at times when fully healthy. He had a 2.01 ERA in 16 starts for the Diamondbacks last year. He will be a wild card in the last rounds of drafts next year.

Clay Buchholz was lit up for six runs over four innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Monday.
Buchholz surrendered six hits, including a season-high three home runs. He was tagged for a three-run homer by Austin Hays in the third inning before yielding back-to-back solo shots to Jonathan Villar and Hays before being lifted from the contest in the fifth inning. It was yet another dismal outing after he was lit up for seven runs over 3 2/3 frames against the Orioles in his previous outing. The 35-year-old right-hander owns a 6.83 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 33/15 K/BB ratio across 54 innings (11 starts) this season. He’ll square off against the Rays at home on Sunday in his final start of the year. He’s not a recommended streaming option in fantasy leagues.

Clay Buchholz was pounded for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Orioles on Wednesday.
Buchholz pitched well in his first three starts off the IL, but he’s given up 11 runs in 7 2/3 innings his last two times out. With a 6.48 ERA in another injury-marred season, he’ll likely be looking at a minor league contract this winter.

Clay Buchholz coughed up four runs in four innings and took a loss to the Red Sox on Thursday.
He surrendered a two-run double to Marco Hernandez in the first inning and then allowed RBI-knocks to J.D. Martinez and Juan Centeno in later frames. Buchholz struck out four, walked one and yielded seven total hits. He falls to 1-5 with a 5.63 ERA in nine starts. He missed most of the season due to a shoulder injury.

Clay Buchholz posted a quality start in Friday night’s loss to the Rays, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits over his six innings of work.
The veteran right-hander struck out three and didn’t walk a batter in the ballgame. The biggest blow against him came on a two-run blast off the bat of Mike Zunino in the second inning. He has now pitched well in each of his first three starts since returning rom the injured list in late August. He’ll try to further improve upon his 5.31 ERA and 1.32 WHIP when he takes on the Red Sox at home on Thursday.

Clay Buchholz picked up his first victory as a member of the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings against the Astros.
The 35-year-old hurler punched out three and also issued five free passes in the contest. He allowed a sacrifice fly in the opening inning, then kept the Astros powerful offense off the board until Yuli Gurriel’s two-run double in the sixth. Buchholz will carry an underwhelming 5.45 ERA and 1.35 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Rays in Tampa Bay.

Clay Buchholz kept the Mariners to two runs on three hits over six innings in a loss Sunday.
Buchholz was making his first start since early May, but you sure wouldn’t have known it by the way he tore through the M’s lineup like a wet paper towel. The right-hander gave up single runs in the third and fourth innings -- the third on a solo homer by Dylan Moore, the fourth on a single and a Kyle Seager RBI double -- but he didn’t even allow a baserunner in any of the other four innings. That’s an impressive return to action for the 35-year-old, and a reminder that he had his moments before the shoulder injury that cost him nearly four months. The Astros will try to throw a wet blanket on Buchholz’s return tour when the two sides meet on Sunday.

Blue Jays activated RHP Clay Buchholz from the 60-day injured list.
Buchholz will rejoin the Jays’ rotation Sunday in Seattle after missing nearly four months with a shoulder issue. Fantasy owners can feel free to look elsewhere.

Clay Buchholz (shoulder) has two more bullpen sessions scheduled for this week.
If both of those workouts go smoothly, he should advance to facing live hitters in some capacity. Buchholz has been sidelined since early May because of lingering inflammation in his right shoulder, but he could be an option for the Blue Jays sometime in mid-to-late August if all goes well moving forward.

Blue Jays transferred RHP Clay Buchholz to the 60-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Buchholz was placed on the injured list back on May 10 -- retroactive to May 7 -- so this move means he won’t be able to return from the IL until July 7 at the earliest. It doesn’t sound like that’s going to happen, anyway, and this move clears room on the 40-man roster for Jordan Romano to be called up from Triple-A Buffalo.
