6-foot-11 center Antonio Vrankovic commits to Duke

The three-star Vrankovic came onto Duke’s radar earlier this year, and he attends Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Vrankovic’s father Stojko played five seasons in the NBA for the Celtics, Timberwolves and Clippers.
Antonio Vrankovic is Duke’s third commitment in the Class of 2015, joining guard Luke Kennard and power forward Chase Jeter. Vrankovic and Jeter join an interior rotation that will need to account for the departure of Jahlil Okafor, with Amile Jefferson and Marshall Plumlee being the returnees and Rice transfer Sean Obi eligible after sitting out the 2014-15 season.
The biggest question for Duke moving forward is the point guard position however, with the staff working hard on both Derryck Thornton and Jamal Murray. Both are members of the 2016 class who have entertained the possibility of reclassifying to 2015, which would certainly help Duke as they’re without a point guard due to Tyus Jones’ decision to turn pro.
