Cedric Lindsay rebounds from a rough first half to lead Richmond past ODU (VIDEO)

At the end of the first half on Saturday night Richmond trailed Old Dominion 25-24, and it didn’t take much effort to find the reason why the Spiders were struggling. Senior guard Cedric Lindsay, who entered the game second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, missed all five of his shots from the field and was held scoreless by the Monarchs. Chris Mooney’s Spiders will ultimately go as far as Lindsay takes them, and his second half proved instrumental in the Spiders’ 67-58 victory.

Lindsay accounted for 19 points in the second half, shooting 6-for-10 from the field, and as a team Richmond shot 48.1% in the game’s final 20 minutes. Lindsay (seven assists to go along with those 19 points) was joined in double figures by Kendall Anthony (17 points) and Alonzo Nelson-Ododa (11, nine rebounds), but while those two and forward Derrick Williams are capable contributors Lindsay is the key figure for the Spiders as they approach the start of Atlantic 10 play.

ODU sophomore guard Aaron Bacote led all scorers with 20 points.
