Christian Laettner embraces the Kentucky boos

Christian Laettner’s team beat Kentucky again, but fans got what they wanted – some boos and a little Laettner humiliation.

The Villains team beat the Kentucky Legends, 152-149, during Monday’s exhibition at Rupp Arena. Jodie Meeks led all scorers with 42 points and Rajon Rondo finished with 21 and 14 assists, but it wasn’t enough for the fan favorites.

No biggie, though. They got to boo Laettner lustily and see this.

Yes, that’s Laettner down on the floor, cleaning up a wet spot. It was a bit of fun for the Duke legend, who embraced every bit of his role.

“They seemed to enjoy it. I don’t know if you noticed, but when I got on all fours and started wiping the floors, everybody stood up and started taking photos. Hopefully they’re Facebooking it and Twittering it and all that stuff,” he said after. “That’s what we were here for. Just to have fun. And I think the Kentucky fans had fun tonight. I hope they did.”

Also fun for the fans? Watching former Louisville star Terrence Williams miss a wide-open dunk.

A Cardinal botches a dunk and Laettner gets down on all fours? I’d call that a successful Wildcats night.
