Ex-Seton Hall guard getting interest from ACC, Big Ten, SEC schools

Jaren Sina, Kerwin Dadika

Jaren Sina is looking for a new school, and from the looks of it he’ll have plenty of options.

The former Seton Hall guard is gaining interest from Boston College, George Washington, Michigan, Rhode Island, Rutgers and South Carolina, according to a report from Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press.

Adam Zagoria of is reporting that South Carolina head coach Frank Martin is scheduled an in-house visit on Sunday, following Sina’s official visit to Binghamton. Sina’s sister is a member of the Bearcats women’s basketball team.

Sina, who was committed to Alabama, then Northwestern before picking Seton Hall in 2013, was an All-Big East Rookie Team selection after averaging 6.4 points and 2.4 assists per game in his first season with the Pirates.

As a sophomore, Sina was a starter on a Seton Hall team that cracked the top-25 and looked like it would reach the NCAA tournament. But the wheels feel off in February, losing six straight games. Sina left the program after an 86-67 loss to Georgetown, the team’s third loss in a row. His departure was attributed to turmoil within the Seton Hall locker room.

Sina will have two years of eligibility remaining likely beginning at the start of the 2016-17 season, per Carino
