Kentucky wing James Young has entered his name into the NBA Draft.

“My time at Kentucky has been special to me, something I’ll always treasure, but I feel that I’m ready to take the next step to the NBA,” Young said in a statement released by Kentucky. “I’ve learned more this year, on and off the court, about life from Coach Cal and the staff and appreciate all of their guidance and support. I can’t say enough about my teammates; the journey helped us build a bond that we will always share for the rest of our lives.”

Young is projected as the No. 15 pick in the draft, according to Draft Express. He averaged 14.3 points and 4.3 boards this past season.

This move is not a surprise, as Young, along with Julius Randle, had long been expected to enter his name into the draft pool. Randle has yet to make make his decision official while Kentucky is also still waiting to hear if Dakari Johnson, Alex Poythress and the Harrison twins will leave school after one season.
