United States dismantles United Arab Emirates 140-46 in World University Games

USA - Opening Ceremonies at World University Games

Not even a team hailing from the SWAC versus one the top teams in college basketball would have produced a score this lopsided.

The United States led 69-23 at the half en route to a dominating win over UAE 140-46 in a men’s preliminary round game.

Cincinnati’s Sean Kilpatrick contributed 18 points in a balanced attack to lead the Red, White, and Blue. In all, nine different players scored in double figures for the United States. Baylor’s Cory Jefferson (14 points and 11 rebounds) and New Mexico’s Alex Kirk (10 points and 12 rebounds) both had double doubles.

Shooting 66% from the field and producing a ridiculous 36 assists to only seven turnovers -- Yogi Ferrell led the charge distributing 13 assists to one turnover -- the United States led by double digits less than four minutes into the contest and never let UAE get to within single digits the rest of the way.

The United States’ next game comes tomorrow against the Czech Republic who are coming off an 85-57 loss to Australia.
