VIDEO: Kyle Kuric speaks to Louisville fans during win over North Florida

Louisville received an emotional lift on Saturday as former guard Kyle Kuric spoke to Cardinals fans on the KFC Yum! Center video board during their game against North Florida. Kuric had surgery two weeks ago to remove a benign brain tumor after he had complained of frequent headaches. Kuric left his Barcelona hospital on Wednesday as he’s currently playing for Herbalife Gran Canaria of the Spanish professional league.

“I just want to thank everybody for all the support that they’ve given me on Twitter and Facebook,” Kuric said to fans on the video board via Skype. According to a report from Eric Crawford of, when Kuric appeared on screen, Louisville fans jumped to their feet and cheered.

Kuric told fans that he was trying to take things slow and he hopes to be back with Gran Canaria and playing by January. This was a really nice moment for Louisville fans, as it appears that Kuric is doing well after his surgery. Hopefully, Kuric can continue his recovery and it would be incredible if he was able to play only a few months after such an ordeal.

As for the game, Louisville took a two-point halftime lead and blew the game wide open in the second half of an 89-61 win as senior guard Damion Lee had 24 points.
