Wednesday’s slate and what to watch

If you’re one of the lucky few who can actually watch The Mtn, you may not see a fully healthy Jimmer Fredette on Wednesday night.

But any Jimmer is good Jimmer, right?

The nation’s leading scorer missed BYU practice on Monday due to a calf bruise, but got back on the court Tuesday and is expected to play against Colorado State. (8 p.m. The Mtn.) He was kicked in the leg at TCU on Saturday. (Maybe the pink shoes will help.)

Hm. I thought we covered this? People shouldn’t anger The Jimmer.

(All times ET)

Kansas State at Nebraska, 9 p.m. (ESPNU): Perhaps the day’s best bubble game, and best game, period. The Wildcats (18-9, 6-6) have won four of their last five, two of which were blowout victories. They’ll be tested at Nebraska (18-8, 6-6), which is coming off the biggest win of coach Doc Sadler’s era, Saturday’s 70-67 stunner vs. Texas. The loser isn’t out of the Big Dance, but it’ll have a lot more work.

Wisconsin at Michigan, 6:30 p.m. (BTN): The first of three games with bubble implications that I’m highlighting here. The Wolverines (17-11, 7-8) have quietly snuck into the NCAA tournament picture by winning six of their last eight games, though none were against sure-fire tourney teams. Beat the Badgers (20-6, 10-4) at home, and that changes in a big way.

Baylor at Missouri, 9 p.m. (ESPN2): The Bears (17-9, 6-6) close their season with trips to Missouri, Oklahoma State and with home games against Texas A&M and Texas. A win over the Tigers (21-6, 7-5) would be a promising start to making an NCAA tournament push.

Temple at Duke, 7 p.m. (ESPN2): Even if this is the great “What if?” season for the Devils, it’s hardly a lost one. Duke (25-2) is the No. 1 team, and could grab yet another 1 seed in the Big Dance. Getting a non-conference win against Temple (21-5) will only help its cause.

Purdue at Indiana, 8:30 p.m. (BTN): The Boilermakers (22-5, 11-3) are coming off two of their biggest wins of the season (Ohio State and Wisconsin) and have an outside shot at the Big Ten title. Meanwhile, things are essentially the complete opposite at Indiana (12-15, 3-11). Does the old cliché apply in tonight’s rivalry?

Cincinnati at Georgetown, 9 p.m. (ESPN3): As John Thompson III continues to evolve as a coach, the Hoyas continue to thrive. They’re 21-6 overall, 10-5 in Big East play and have an outside shot at the regular-season title. Oddly enough, two of their final three league games are against the Bearcats (21-6, 8-6).
