Packers signed third-round pick WR Savion Williams to a four-year contract.
Williams joins the Packers’ comically deep wide receiver group and is best suited to being stashed on dynasty benches. He is unlikely to contribute to re-draft league lineups in year one. Per the NFL’s pre-determined rookie wage scale, the contract is worth up to $6.289 million. The Packers front office also announced the signing of six players drafted in Rounds 3-7, plus 10 undrafted free agents, today. Drafted players include DL Barryn Sorrell, DL Collin Oliver, DL Warren Brinson, CB Micah Robinson and OG John Williams.
  • Packers selected Texas EDGE Barryn Sorrell with the No. 124 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sorrell (6’3/256) has consistently shown his ability to get to the quarterback. In 2023, he recorded 11 QB hits, which led all defenders in the Big 12. Playing in the SEC in 2024, Sorrell recorded 16 tackles and career highs in sacks with 6. He’s physical off the ball and displays a powerful use of hands. As a pass rusher, Sorrell has a nice bend off the edge; I can make his opponents lose with his speed. As a run defender, Sorrell has a nice combination of vision and being able to efficiently shed his blocks and make big plays. He is a bit inconsistent off the ball with that initial jab step, specifically in games like Louisiana Monroe. There were times when Sorrell would play too high off the ball, and he would lose those battles right away. He posted a 56.5 PFF run defense grade, which was one of his lowest grades of the season. Fast-forward to his game against Florida, he posted a 47.8 run defense grade. He showed inconsistent leverage off the ball, causing him to get pushed around quite a bit. Overall, Sorrell is more of a mid Day 3 prospect, who has the talent to be a nice depth piece on an NFL team.
  • GB Defensive Lineman
Texas signed 2021 three-star DE Barryn Sorrell.
Sorrell (6'3/250) decommitted from Northwestern in late October. Texas emerged as the frontrunner for his services last month and sealed the deal today, fending off overtures from Arizona State, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and Virginia in the process. Ranking wise, the signing doesn’t get the juices flowing, but it was critical for Texas after they lost out on the sweepstakes for four-star DE Shemar Turner to Texas A&M. "[Sorrell] plays a lot of odd-front end and would suit that 4i role in college,” 247Sports national recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote. “He could also move inside in four-man fronts. Sorrell uses his hands well and is a solid all-round defensive lineman. He does not have ... high-end twitch ... [but he’s] a solid, consistent player down to down.”
