Former Florida International RB D’Vonte Price is looking to be the first running back drafted from FIU in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Price (6'2/215) had a solid Senior Bowl according to Oliver Hodgkinson of Pro Football Network, and could wind up hearing his name called this spring in the 2022 NFL Draft. During his time at FIU, Price rushed 374 times for 2,179 yards and 15 touchdowns, and finished his senior year with a rushing line of 127-674-6. Price never rushed for 1,000 yards in any of his five seasons at FIU, but according to Hodgkinson’s scouting profile on him, Price possess finesse and long speed, along with good agility. Price could throw himself into serious draft consideration with a solid performance at next month’s NFL Scouting Combine.

  • FIU senior running back D’Vonte Price rushed 17 times for 50 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 31-27 loss to Central Michigan.
In a game that was largely dominated by FIU’s passing game, Price (6'2/215) did manage to find the end zone on a five yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the Panthers up 20-10. FIU would only muster up one more touchdown on the day, as they were outscored 21-0 in the fourth quarter. Price has been leaned on heavily for FIU this season, having already rushed 60 times for 377 yards and five touchdowns on the season. FIU travels to Florida Atlantic (2-2) in Week 5.

  • FIU RB D’Vonte Price rushes for 111 yards, fumbles twice in 23-17 home loss to Texas State.
When you rush for 165 yards and three touchdowns in your previous game, you have high expectations. Texas State did well at containing Price (6'2"/215) throughout the game, one run for 23 yards was the only time he was able to find a gap. The senior Price also had some trouble holding on to the ball with two fumbles for a loss. The Panthers didn’t need Price as QB Max Bortenschlager’s (6'3"/205) performance helped keep FIU in this game. The Panthers are on the road next week against Texas Tech.

  • FIU senior RB D’vonte Price rushed for 100 yards on 24 carries in Saturday’s 38-21 loss at WKU.
Price (6'2/194) was one of the few Golden Panthers to actually have a good day in Saturday’s loss, a game that turned on two turnovers (one fumble recovery and one interception) that WKU managed to return for touchdowns during the third quarter. The senior running back hit the 100-yard mark for the fourth time in five games, and for the season he’s now up to 581 yards and four touchdowns on 85 carries (6.8 yards per carry). Price will look to add to those numbers next week when FIU hosts Louisiana Tech.

  • FIU senior RB D’Vonte Price earned 26 carries for 178 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s 38-19 loss to Florida Atlantic.
Despite the loss, Price had the best and longest play of anyone on the day. His 77-yard scoring spring early in the second quarter helped pull the game to 10-7, briefly giving the Golden Panthers some hope. The FIU defense got steamrolled after that and Price could not quite drag the rest of the team to enough points to keep up, but Price is the last person to blame for FIU’s fourth consecutive loss. FIU are scheduled to play against Western Kentucky next week.

  • FIU senior RB D’Vonte Price rushed 13 times for 112 yards and a touchdown in a 31-28 loss to Middle Tennessee State.
Price (6'2/194) his second 100-yard game of the season, as both him and co-starter Shaun Peterson Jr. hit the century mark today. His highlight reel play was a well blocked 65-yard touchdown scamper at the end of the third-quarter that gave FIU a 28-24 lead. Price has already eclipsed the 249 yards he gained all of last season in only two games. He will continue to lead the FIU backfield and will attempt to make it three 100-yard games in a row next week against CUSA foe Charlotte.

  • FIU senior RB D’Vonte Price rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in Saturday’s 36-34 loss to Liberty.
The Panthers had all sorts of issues moving the ball through the air against the Flames until they finally turned to true frosh QB3 Stone Norton. Price (6'2/194) provided basically all of FIU’s offense in the first half (a Lexington Joseph 100-yard kick return accounted for FIU’s other TD before halftime). Price ran for 249 yards and no TD last year with sporadic work. He’s going to easily surpass those numbers in less games this fall.

  • FIU junior RB D’Vonte Price rushed for 86 yards on nine carries in Saturday’s 48-23 win over Charlotte.
Price (6'2/194) was one of the key contributors on what was a very good night for FIU on the ground, as the Golden Panthers rushed for 350 yards on 53 carries. The junior running back averaged 9.6 yards per carry in what is his best single-game performance of the season to date. Price and the Golden Panthers could be in line for another big day next weekend, as they host a struggling UTEP squad October 19.
  • Florida International sophomore RB D’Vonte Price rushed 14 times for 119 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 38-17 win at Western Kentucky.
The 119 yards represent a career best, and it was his first-ever 100-yard game against an FBS opponent. He has rushed 40 times for 339 yards (8.5 yards per carry) and four touchdowns over his past four outings, and FIU is 4-0 during that impressive span. The emergence of a run game has taken pressure off of QB James Morgan, and the Golden Panthers are suddenly a pretty potent offense. They’ll try and keep it rolling against rival FAU next Saturday in Miami.
  • Florida International sophomore RB D’Vonte Price rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries in Saturday’s 55-9 win.
Price’s monster outing was buoyed by a 70-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. His other touchdown was from 10 yards out in the second quarter. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound back made the most of his opportunity with just five carries in this contest against weak competition He will have a tough time replicating this efficiency against Middle Tennessee State next weekend.
