Cardinals selected Texas OG Hayden Conner with the No. 211 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
A three-year starter at left guard for Texas, Conner (6'6/314) was stellar in pass protection in his final year on the 40 Acres, notching a PFF pass blocking grade below 70.9 just twice in 16 appearances. Unfortunately, one of those contests was against Ohio State in the playoff, a game where he allowed three pressures. The former Katy High School product is an easy projection to guard (he was announced as such on draft day) in the pros but doesn’t have any special athletic traits. He does have a chance to become an eventual NFL starter.
  • Texas received a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 T Hayden Conner.
Conner (6'6/305) sided with Texas over the likes of Michigan, Stanford and Texas A&M. Per Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman, the Wolverines represented the biggest challenger to the Longhorns in this recruiting fight. Spiegelman notes that the Katy, Texas, native is a “source of brute power that can push defensive linemen to the turf with relative ease and on film, launches defenders to the turf.” Rivals ranks Conner as the No. 13 tackle prospect in the 2021 class.
  • Uncommitted four-star 2021 T Hayden Conner named Michigan, Stanford, Texas and Texas A&M as the four leaders for his pledge.
Conner (6'6/305) took unofficial visits to both Austin and College Station in June, but told Rivals that this remains a four-team race. Already possessing of collegiate-ready size, the Katy, Texas, native has some issues to shore up in terms of his balance and discipline as he heads into his junior season of prep ball. Conner would like to get his recruitment sewn up some time this winter. Rivals ranks Conner as the No. 13 tackle prospect in the 2021 class.
