    Dolphins waived TE Jalin Conyers.
Conyers suffered a leg injury in August 2025 and did not play last year. The Dolphins also waived OL Braeden Daniels and signed OT Marques Cox. Conyers, 24, tested very well at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2025 and could get a chance to make a roster elsewhere, if healthy.

Dolphins signed Texas Tech TE Jalin Conyers.
After redshirting at Oklahoma, Conyers (6’4/260) spent three years at Arizona State before spending his final season at Texas Tech. He caught 30 passes for 320 yards and five touchdowns in his last season, adding two rushing touchdowns and a passing score. Conyers tested best among tight ends at the NFL Combine in both the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle. He is a good athlete who can work in the short area and make contested catches. Although his blocking is inconsistent, Conyers has a flexible skill-set and can be moved around the field. Conyers’ athleticism has gotten him into the NFL, but he will need to clean up his route running and blocking to stick around a tight end room.

Arizona State redshirt freshman TE Jalin Conyers (head) won’t make the trip for Saturday’s game at Oregon State.
Conyers (6'4/228) was in a car accident involving other ASU players on Thursday. As result, the tight end suffered head lacerations and was taken to a nearby hospital. The Oklahoma transfer has played more of a backup role this season with just five catches for 27 yards and a touchdown. ASU will also be missing wide receiver Curtis Hodges in this important game as they still have a glimmer of hope to win the PAC-12 South.

  • MIA Tight End #80
Former Oklahoma freshman TE Jalin Conyers transferred to Arizona State.
Conyers (6'4/228) was a tight end in high school, but upon arriving at Oklahoma he was moved out to wide receiver. The freshman did not appear in a game for the Sooners, and in late-December decided to enter his name into the transfer portal. Conyers will have four seasons of eligibility remaining at Arizona State.

  • MIA Tight End #80
Oklahoma freshman WR Jalin Conyers entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Thought to be an excellent fit for Oklahoma’s prolific offense, Conyers (6'4/228) has entered the transfer portal after one season in Norman. The four-star recruit out of Texas redshirted this season, and did not see action in any games. Conyers was a tight end in high school, but he was moved to wide receiver upon arriving at Oklahoma. He will have four seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop, should he go through with a transfer.

Rivals’ Mike Farrell writes that Oklahoma four-star 2020 verbal TE commit Jalin Conyers “fits well with what OU likes to do on offense at the position.”
Farrell refers to the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Conyers as an “athletic tight end who can stretch the field.” Conyers crushes it in terms of his catch radius and an innate sense for how to bend to the ball when it’s coming at him. His body control is impeccable. Earlier this month, 247Sports’ Greg Biggins wrote that the Gruver, Texas, native “perfectly fits the tight end profile of what a high round draft pick looked like in high school.” Rivals ranks Conyers as the No. 238 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

247Sports’ Greg Biggins writes that Oklahoma four-star 2020 verbal TE commit Jalin Conyers “perfectly fits the tight end profile of what a high round draft pick looked like in high school.”
“His catch radius and body control are tremendous and he could conceivably play two or three different positions in college and dominate at each of them,” notes Biggins, who refers to the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Conyers as a “hyper athletic two-way player.” The Sooners notched the clutch tight end’s pledge earlier this month. In general, the 2020 cycle has several dynamo tight end prospects, with two five-stars in Arik Gilbert and Darnell Washington leading the way. The 2023 NFL Draft could be very intriguing at the position if everybody in question hits their developmental upsides next year and beyond.

Oklahoma received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 TE Jalin Conyers.
Conyers (6'5/220) was also seriously considering Georgia and Ohio State, but OU won out for the Gruver, Texas, native’s heart in the end. He has been one of the fastest rising prospect in the class this offseason, hauling in a multitude of fresh offers during the spring. Given that the Sooners saw ATH pledge Drew Sanders -- whom they had been recruiting as a tight end -- flip over to Alabama in late April, Conyers slots in as a perfect replacement in the class. Rivals ranks him as the No. 238 overall prospect for the 2020 cycle. He has a palatable frame for collegiate work and a smooth style of running. Sooners HC Lincoln Riley should be able to figure out all sorts of fun ways to torture the Big 12 with Conyers over the coming years.

On 247Sports’ updated rankings board, uncommitted four-star 2020 TE Jalin Conyers jumped up 102 spots.
We are talking specifically about 247Sports’ own rankings, rather than their vaunted composite board. Conyers (6'5/220) had been sitting comfortably at No. 218, but has now been bumped all the way up to No. 116, with outlet analyst Barton Simmons writing that the Gruver, Texas, native “checks out in terms of size, ball skills and athleticism.” The four-star tight end is deciding between Oklahoma, Georgia and Ohio State for his commitment. We could potentially see a summer pledge out of Conyers, but an announcement at the adidas All-American Bowl on Jan. 4 is probably more likely at this juncture.

Uncommitted four-star 2020 TE Jalin Conyers released a top-three of Oklahoma, Georgia and Ohio State.
Conyers (6'5/220) put out a top-six list just over a week ago, but that list has now been chopped in half. No such luck for Texas Tech, LSU, and Arizona State, who made the six-program cut but ended up on the cutting room floor for this revised release. Look for the Gruver, Texas, native to take official visits to all three of his newly-minted finalists before making his pledge. It’s not impossible that Conyers commits before the start of his senior season, but per Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman, it is more likely that he makes his pledge at the adidas All-American Bowl on Jan. 4. Spiegelman’s outlet ranks Conyers as the No. 238 overall prospect in the 2020 class.
