Dolphins traded up with the Raiders to select Arizona OG Jonah Savaiinaea with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Savaiinaea (6’4/324) wasn’t a heralded recruit, but he excelled early and often in his time with the Wildcats. A plus athlete, Savaiinaea ran an incredible 98th percentile 4.95s 40-yard dash with 26 bench reps and a 4.66s shuttle for a very respectable 9.19 Relative Athletic Score. He has a wide base and long arms which help him engulf and deflect quicker edge rushers who try to dart and dip around him. He’s viewed as a bit stiff in the hips which causes him to reach and expose his chest, and can be a step behind processing twists and handoffs while being miscast as a tackle. He didn’t distinguish himself in Senior Bowl practices and had trouble handling speed to power transitions against high-end prospects, but the Dolphins will give him the opportunity to play early in the interior.
  • Arizona received a verbal commitment from three-star 2022 IOL Jonah Savaiinaea.
Arizona seem to be going hard at IOL this cycle. Savaiinaea is already Arizona’s second IOL recruit, while they still have no OT recruits in the class. Nevertheless, Savaiinaea is a mountain of a man, weighing in at 6-foot-3 and 330-pounds. If Arizona are trying to change their program’s attitude, a big pile-mover liker Savaiinaea is a good place to start. Savaiinaea is Arizona’s eighth overall recruit for 2022.
