Cowboys signed SMU WR Jordan Hudson.
Hudson (6’1”/191) spent his freshman season at TCU in 2022 before transferring to SMU for his final three seasons. Prior to breaking out for 63-785-6 in 2025, Hudson never totaled more than 423 yards in a season. He displayed a good ability to create after the catch last season, posting a career-high 6.2 YAC/REC while also forcing 16 missed tackles, good for a 25.4 percent missed tackles forced rate. His 16 missed tackles tied for the 11th-most of all receivers in the nation. Hudson played primarily on the outside, but he lacks top-end speed (4.58 40-yard dash) and saw 54.8 percent of his targets come on short passes (0-9 yard ADOT) or behind the line of scrimmage, per PFF. The flashes Hudson showed last season make him an interesting developmental prospect at the next level. If he can find ways to create after the catch in the pros while continuing to improve his route running, Hudson could eventually earn a meaningful role in the right system.

SMU five-star 2022 WR Jordan Hudson reopened his recruitment.
Hudson (6'1/180) joined Chace Biddle and Cordale Russell in decommitting from SMU, all within 10 minutes of each other in a show of solidarity. Hudson is particularly notable, since when he committed to SMU back in July he was rated as the highest ranked recruit in school history. Originally committed to Oklahoma, Hudson is considered the 12th best overall recruit in the nation and the fact that he is backing off his pledge gives credibility to the rumors of HC Sonny Dykes taking over the vacated TCU job in the wake of Gary Patterson’s dismissal.

SMU received a verbal commitment from five-star 2022 WR Jordan Hudson.
Hudson (6'1/180) is the highest rated player to ever sign with the Mustangs, ranking as the 12th overall player nationally according to ESPN. The Garland, TX native has been heavily recruited by 20+ teams such as Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, LSU, Miami and USC, originally committing to Oklahoma early Junes before backing off his pledge shortly thereafter. Also an accomplished track athlete, Hudson triple jumped 45-7 and ran a 11.34 100-meter dash as a junior. Hudson was wildly productive as a sophomore, catching 79 passes for 1270 yards and 20 touchdowns while playing against high-end Texas 6A level competition in the Dallas area. His clean routes and ability to play with leverage allow him to move the chains, while his height and athleticism allow him to reel in contested deep balls. Hudson seems secure in his commitment and intends to stay close to home at nearby SMU.
