Notre Dame HC Brian Kelly says senior DL Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa (undisclosed) will miss Saturday’s game against Florida State.

Tagovailoa-Amosa (6'3/285) is a heavy contributor for the Notre Dame defense. In 13 appearances last year, Tagovailoa-Amosa made 12 starts and picked up 22 tackles, 2.5 of which went for a loss. He also made five tackles over the team’s first two games this season. Even though Florida State is a bad opponent, having Tagovailoa-Amosa out of the lineup will sting a bit.

  • Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said sophomore DL Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa has a broken foot that could keep him out the rest of the regular season.

Tagovailoa-Amosa (6'3/285) has a chance to return late in the year for the Fighting Irish. Kelly said the injury is “disappointing” but Notre Dame has a lot of talent up front -- Khalid Kareem was the national Player of the Week this weekend for example. As a freshman last year, Tagovailoa-Amosa was credited with seven solo tackles, including two of them for a loss. He will likely use his redshirt season this year, but that still grants him the opportunity to play in up to three more games if he can return quick enough.
