Yep, it’s officially the offseason. According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Syracuse backup quarterback Terrel Hunt was arrested Tuesday night and charged with petit larceny. The incident stemmed from the 18-year-old allegedly lifting some cologne (pictured) from a department store. From the paper:
While shopping at the Hollister store at the Carousel Center mall, Hunt selected one Hollister “Breakline (sic) Fragrance” valued at $44 from the sales floor. He concealed the merchandise in a Hollister Co. shopping bag and left the store without paying. Hunt was confronted outside the store and escorted to the security office by Hollister’s loss-prevention officer where the merchandise was recovered without incident. Hunt was cooperative and very apologetic. Hollister sought prosecution.
If only the NCAA membership had adopted that $2,000 stipend instead of tabling it for further discussion... Anyway, the school is aware of the legal situation and, as a result of the arrest, has indefinitely suspended Hunt from all football activities. As a true freshman in 2011, Hunt did not see any playing time.
