DeMarco Murray expected to play in Big 12 title game

After a week of semi-uncertainty, it appears all systems are go for Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray.

In a release issued by the school Thursday night, head coach Bob Stoops said he expects Murray to play in the Big 12 championship game Saturday night against Nebraska. Murray, the release stated, practiced with the team Thursday, the clearest sign yet that he’ll healthy -- relatively speaking -- and available.

Murray took a helmet to the knee in the Sooners’ division-clinching win over Oklahoma State and did not return following the fourth-quarter hit. Stoops was very vague on Murray’s status earlier in the week, but became more optimistic in his public updates as the week went on.

Murray leads the Sooners in rushing and is second in receiving, so his availability in kinda, sorta important for OU to come away with another conference title.
