Already a semi-pro in the press box, former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand is adding more skins to his broadcasting wall.
Rutgers announced today that LeGrand, who was paralyzed from the neck down during special teams collision in a 2010 game against Army, will be part of the Rutgers Radio Network broadcast team for this Saturday’s Scarlet and White game.
The game will be streaming live on ScarletKnights.com. Additionally, the second annual “Believe Bowl” will begin at 1 p.m. -- two hours before spring game kickoff -- as two teams of former Rutgers Football players take the field for a flag-football game to raise awareness LeGrand and Rutgers Spinal Cord Research.
LeGrand has been with the RRN since last year and made his broadcast debut when the Scarlet Knights played Syracuse. LeGrand has said he wants to be working broadcasting after he graduates from RU. He certainly has the charisma and knowledge to do it.
In other LeGrand news, Eric tweeted last night that he was able to twitch his thumb twice last night. Fantastic news.
