With the end of yet another college football season, we’re using the slooowww period before National Signing Day to plow through an email inbox that’s seen unread missives pile up like some kind of mass southern aves-cide.
So, pardon us while we take care of this bit of housekeeping from over the weekend. And we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
According to a press release issued by the school, Kansas State announced that quarterback Billy Cosh has decided to transfer to James Madison University. Cosh, a redshirt freshman, apparently felt his chances of seeing the playing field sooner rather than later were greater with the Dukes.
“I’m pleased that Billy will have the opportunity to get on the field quickly in a program that features the passing game,” said head coach Bill Snyder in a statement. “Billy is obviously a dear friend and a great young man. He loved Manhattan and our program and players but simply felt by transferring he could gain more immediate playing time.”
Cosh is the son of Chris Cosh, K-State’s defensive coordinator in 2010 after spending 2009 as Snyder’s co-coordinator.
A three -star recruit coming out of high school, Cosh set Maryland public school records for passing yards in a career (7,433) and state records for career touchdown passes (112), passing yards in a season (3,913), touchdowns (56), completions (292) and attempts (448).
