When Indiana takes on Ball State for its season-opener, first-year coach Kevin Wilson and the Hoosier will be without one of their top running backs from.
Whether or not this latest bit of news will affect the number of times Indiana’s fight song is heard in Indianapolis is yet to be seen.
Wilson announced Darius Willis, who still recovering from an ankle injury suffered last season, will not play against the Cardinals. Willis is also subject to a one-game suspension for a domestic assault incident, but that suspension is expected to be tacked on to IU’s opening game since Willis was not expected to play.
Willis was the team’s second-leading rusher last season before suffering the injury.
