It’s not been a good week on the attrition front for Pitt.
Wednesday, the Panthers lost three starters, including the nation’s second-leading rusher, to season-ending injuries. Two days later, one of their defensive reserves has been lost as well, albeit for entirely different reasons.
First-year head coach Todd Graham announced that linebacker Kevin Adams (not pictured) has been dismissed from the football program. The reason given wasn’t the standard violations of unspecified team rules; rather, it was the equally vague “disciplinary reasons” that led to the redshirt sophomore’s abrupt departure from the program.
Adams had played in eight games this season, starting one of those contests. The Montvale, NJ, product was a two-star member of Pitt’s 2009 recruiting class.
