LOUISVILLE SUSPENDS SON OF SIMMS

Louisville has suspended quarterback Matt Simms for the first four games of the season, head coach Steve Kragthorpe told the local TV station WHAS.The reason for Simms’ suspension is a “violation of team rules,” and no further explanation was given.Simms is best known as the son of former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms and the younger brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Chris Simms. He was a highly sought recruit and was competing with Tyler Wolfe for the No. 2 job behind the Cardinals’ starter, Hunter Cantwell.Simms will miss games against Kentucky, Tennessee Tech, Kansas State and Connecticut. If Cantwell and Wolfe stay healthy, Simms might not play at all this season.
