It’s still the season of transfers, apparently.
AuburnUndercover.com reported this weekend that backup linebackers Chris Landrum and Harris Gaston will transfer to Jacksonville State. Ryan Wood of the Opelika-Auburn News later confirmed that both players had been granted their release. An Auburn spokesperson confirmed to al.com that Landrum has left the team, though the same could not be said for Gaston.
The losses aren’t particularly devastating to AU’s depth. Landrum played sparingly as a fullback last season before making the transition to linebacker this spring and Gaston hasn’t played since the 2010 season. Since both will be transferring down a level, neither will have to sit out a season and will be eligible to play immediately.
