Tracking every Power 4 head coaching move around college football

Everyone who works in and around college football expected a great deal of coaching turnover this offseason. A crazy coaching carousel was all but assured after a flurry of midseason firings, as some of the bluest of blueblood programs looked for their next head coaches.

This list will keep track of every head coaching move around the four power conferences and will be updated as coaches are hired and/or fired.

Coaching Carousel Updates

-On Friday, December 12th, Washington State announced the school hired Missouri offensive coordinator Kirby Moore to lead the Cougars.

-As of Saturday, December 6th, we have removed UCLA from the list after the school announced the hiring of James Madison head coach Bob Chesney.

- As of Friday, December 5th, we have removed Penn State from the list following news that Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell will take on the top role for the Nittany Lions. The Cyclones announced Washington State head coach Jimmy Rogers as Campbell’s replacement.

- As of Thursday, December 4th, we have removed California from the list after the school announced the hiring of Oregon defensive coordinator and former Golden Bears player Tosh Lupoi.

- As of Monday, December 1st, we’ve removed Kentucky from the list after the school brought Kentucky native and Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein back home as its new head coach.

- As of Monday, December 1st, we’ve removed Michigan State from the list after the school announced former Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald as its new head coach.

- As of Monday, December 1st, we’ve removed UCLA from the list after NBC Sports’ Nicole Auerbach reported that the school is expected to hire James Madison head coach Bob Chesney.

- As of Sunday, November 30th, we’ve removed LSU from the list after Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin himself announced he’s off to Baton Rouge to be the Tigers’ next head coach. Ole Miss then elevated defensive coordinator Pete Golding to become the Rebels’ new full-time head coach.

- As of Sunday, November 30th, we’ve removed Florida from the list after the school announced that Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall will take the reins in Gainesville.

- As of Sunday, November 30th, we’ve removed Arkansas from the list after the school announced that Memphis head coach Ryan Silverfield will becomes its new head coach.

- As of Sunday, November 30th, we’ve removed Auburn from the list following the school’s announcement that USF head coach Alex Golesh will take over the head coach role.

-As of Friday, November 28th, we’ve removed Stanford from the list after the school announced it was hiring former Washington Commanders QBs coach Tavita Pritchard to fill its head coaching vacancy.

- As of Tuesday, November 25th, we’ve removed Oklahoma State from the list after the school announced it was hiring former North Texas head coach Eric Morris.

- As of Monday, November 17th, we’ve removed Virginia Tech from the list after the school announced it was hiring former Penn State head coach James Franklin.
