Former Georgia receiver Uriah Lemay is transferring to Charlotte, per NinerReport.com.
Lemay, who informed Georgia last week he would transfer to seek more playing time, was rated as a three-star member of the Bulldogs’ 2013 recruiting class. The native of Matthews, N.C. -- a suburb of Charlotte -- redshirted last fall for Georgia.
Lemay was one of four Georgia players charged with theft by deception in a check-cashing scheme -- the players attempted to cash stipend checks from Georgia multiple times. Lemay was charged with four counts of theft, and may have faced a suspension if he were convicted.
Charlotte is in the process of becoming an FBS school, with a move to Conference USA slated for 2015.
