Former Wake Forest sophomore S Trey Rucker transferred to Oklahoma State.
Rucker (6'1/205) played mostly free safety, but also bounced around to slot corner and box safety when the situation dictated it. After starting nine games as a freshman, the sophomore missed a large portion of this season due to a foot injury. In two years in Winston-Salem, the sophomore safety compiled 84 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and two interceptions. Rucker will have up to three seasons of eligibility remaining in Stillwater.

Monday has been a tough day for the Demon Deacons, as two players with starting experience (the other being RB Kenneth Walker III) entered their names into the transfer portal. • Wake Forest sophomore S Trey Rucker is listed as a co-starter ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Virginia.
With the usual starter, Luke Masterson, sidelined due to injury the Demon Deacons have two possible options to fill the void. One is Rucker (6'1/205), a sophomore who started nine of the 13 games in which he appeared as a true freshman. And in Wake Forest’s most recent game, an October 2 demolition of Campbell, the sophomore safety amassed four total tackles (one solo). The other option at safety is freshman walk-on Nick Andersen, who has appeared in all three games this season and has amassed 13 total tackles (six solo) and one fumble recovery.
