Chiefs selected Virginia Tech OLB Dadi Nicolas with the No. 203 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Nicolas (6'3/235) made 26 starts for the Hokies, earning second-team All-ACC as both a junior and senior despite playing 2015 with a broken hand. He finished his career with 36 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks. Nicolas had a hit-or-miss Combine, registering an absurd 41-inch vertical but running 4.74 with a 9-foot-8 broad jump. An undersized college end with fantastic length (35 1/4-inch arms), Nicolas’ future is at outside linebacker and on special teams. On defense, Nicolas’ best NFL role may be in usage similar to Bruce Irvin’s with Seattle.
