    Bears released LB Danny Trevathan.
We would assume this is a post-June 1 release, as a pre-June 1 release would actually result in a cap surcharge instead of savings. Eight days shy of his 32nd birthday, Trevathan was limited to five games by a knee injury in 2021. Aside from a strong 2017-18, Trevathan was never really the difference maker in Chicago he teased he would be in Denver. He is capable of playing all three downs, though. His age and recent injury history will be conspiring against him in free agency.

Bears placed LB Danny Trevathan (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.
Trevathan opened the season on injured reserve with a knee injury, so this second trip to the injured list officially ends his season. Even in the five games he played, Trevathan was nothing more than a part-time player. While his contract makes him difficult to cut, it would not be surprising if Trevathan has played his final game with the Bears.

Bears activated LB Danny Trevathan (knee) from injured reserve.
Trevathan missed the first four games of the year with a knee injury. He returned to practice 10 days ago so he should not be dealing with any limitations in his first game back. Trevathan started all 16 games for the Bears last year but Alec Ogletree, who has been filling in for him, has played well in his absence. Ogletree totaled 12 combined tackles in Week 4 and broke up a Jared Goff pass on fourth down in the end zone. The Bears may choose to keep Ogletree out there until he gives them a reason to let Trevathan have his starting role back.

Bears placed LB Danny Trevathan on injured reserve with knee soreness.
Trevathan is still locked into a starting job after starting all 16 games a season ago. Trevathan was a major liability in 2020, but free agent fill-in Alec Ogletree is not going to be any better. It is a concern for the Bears’ defense.

Bears re-signed ILB Danny Trevathan to a three-year, $21.75 million contract.
Trevathan turns 30 later this month and missed six games last season after suffering an elbow injury in Week 10. In his four years with Chicago, Trevathan has missed 18 games to injuries. The veteran received strong marks from Pro Football Focus in his last healthy season when the Bears defense dominated in 2018. Fellow ILB Nick Kwiatkoski is scheduled to hit the free-agent market.

Bears placed LB Danny Trevathan on injured reserve with an elbow injury, ending his season.
Trevathan hasn’t played since Week 10, and now that the Bears have been eliminated from the playoffs, they’re ending the 29-year-old’s season. He should be fine for a normal offseason where Trevathan is scheduled to hit free agency in March. Trevathan should have a couple good years left in him.

Bears declared LB Danny Trevathan, DE Abdullah Anderson, OG Alex Bars, WR Riley Ridley, TE Adam Shaheen, CB Duke Shelley and TE Bradley Sowell inactive for Week 12 against the Giants.
Trevathan (elbow) and Shaheen (foot) are both injured while the rest are healthy scratches. LB Isaiah Irving (quad) will play through his questionable tag.

Bears LB Danny Trevathan (elbow) has been ruled out for Week 12.
Trevathan’s absence is good news for Saquon Barkley. Yes, Week 10’s 13-1-0 rushing and 5-30-0 receiving lines weren’t exactly what Barkley’s fantasy owners had in mind. Still, the team’s Week 11 bye should’ve helped get the Giants’ workhorse RB closer to 100% before the season’s final stretch. Continue to treat Barkley as a high-end RB1 regardless of the matchup.

Bears LB Danny Trevathan left Sunday’s Week 10 game against the Lions with a left elbow injury and will not return.
Trevathan’s elbow seemed to bend the wrong way while bringing down Jeff Driskel in the first quarter. Nick Kwiatkoski will finish out the game at linebacker for Chicago. Trevathan logged three tackles prior to exiting.

Bears MLB Danny Trevathan was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 2.
Not “Trevathian,” Jason Witten. On Monday Night Football, Trevathan wrecked the Seahawks for a pair of sacks, eight tackles, and a forced fumble as the Bears defense controlled the game. Trevathan’s time is Chicago has been marred by injuries and suspension, but he’s healthy and only 28.
