Yankees recalled RHP Darrell Rasner from Triple-A Columbus.
Rasner had a 2.56 ERA in nine starts for Columbus, but he’s probably not being promoted to take on a significant role now. He’ll be available in middle relief, maybe until Shawn Chacon comes off the DL.

Darrell Rasner was pulled from his major league debut after giving up three runs in 2 2/3 innings against the Marlins.
A very quick hook from manager Frank Robinson. Rasner might not stay in the rotation after his performance tonight. Jon Rauch could be a candidate to replace him.

Nationals recalled RHP Darrell Rasner from Double-A Harrisburg.
Rather than go to a four-man roster, the Nationals have decided to start Rasner tomorrow. The 24-year-old right-hander was 6-7 with a 3.59 ERA, 150 H and 96/29 K/BB in 150 1/3 IP for Harrisburg. His sinker could allow him to become a fourth or fifth starter in the majors, but you’ll want to stay away for now.

Double-A Harrisburg’s Darrell Rasner left his start in the first inning last night after taking a liner off his pitching arm.
Rasner, a sinkerballer, is 4-5 with a 4.25 ERA, 101 H and 49/15 K/BB in 84 2/3 IP for Harrisburg. His ability to keep the ball on the ground makes him a potential fourth or fifth starter.

According to the New York Times, Darrell Rasner (finger) may be done for the season.
Rasner was placed on the 60-day disabled list and had three pins inserted into his right knuckle Saturday. He’s out for at least three months, but manager Joe Torre indicated that he’s not counting on him to contribute late in the season. “Healing is one thing, and then you start spring training all over again,” Torre said. “It’s not like a leg muscle where you can still keep your arm in shape.”
