Steelers signed WR David Gilreath and NT Alameda Ta’amu from the team’s practice squad.
Gilreath had a cup of coffee with the Steelers earlier in the year, playing in three games and catching one pass for seven yards. Ta’amu was a fourth-round pick out of Washington in this past year’s draft, but he later got arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated and was waived in October. Both players will fight for roster spots this upcoming offseason.
  • FA Wide Receiver #6
Raiders signed WR David Gilreath and waived P Daniel Zychlinski.
It’s a bottom-of-the-roster move for offseason depth. A former undrafted free agent, Gilreath hasn’t appeared in the NFL since 2012. The Raiders also waived WRs Jared Green and Noel Grigsby.
  • FA Wide Receiver #6
Bucs claimed WR/PR David Gilreath off waivers from the Steelers.
Gilreath could be a threat to Roscoe Parrish, who has averaged 7.7 yards per on 18 punt returns. S Cody Grimm (hamstring) and OL Jeremy Trueblood (undisclosed) were placed on injured reserve, in corresponding moves.
  • FA Wide Receiver #6
Steelers promoted WR David Gilreath from the practice squad.
It’s an indication Antonio Brown (ankle) will be inactive for Monday’s game. An undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin, Gilreath will be limited to special teams if he’s active against the Chiefs.
  • FA Wide Receiver #6
Bucs declared WR David Gilreath, RB Michael Smith, LB Najee Goode, OL Derek Hardman, WR David Douglas and DT Matthew Masifilo inactive for Week 13 at Denver.
Gilreath was recently claimed off waivers from the Steelers, but he’s not yet a threat to Roscoe Parrish on punt returns. The Bucs are relatively healthy for big December tilt.
  • FA Wide Receiver #6
Seahawks signed WR David Gilreath to a one-year contract.
The ex-Steeler was briefly on the Raiders earlier this offseason. The move doesn’t move the needle. Gilreath isn’t going to make the team.
  • FA Running Back #43
Colts waived RB/KR Devin Moore, S Chip Vaughn, QB Mike Hartline, WR Joe Horn, and OL Casey Bender.
Undrafted free agents Chad Spann and David Gilreath entered the exhibition season competing with Moore on kick returns, but impressive rookie Joe Lefeged may have since moved to the head of the pack. Vaughn was a penalty machine at safety. Hartline, Brian’s brother, starred at Kentucky the past few years.
  • FA Defensive Back #36
Rookie S Joe Lefeged is the front-runner for the Colts’ kickoff return job.
Undrafted out of Rutgers, Lefeged has also been rock solid as a reserve safety. He’s averaged 25.8 yards on four returns, maintaining an edge over WR David Gilreath (20.0) and RB Chad Spann (16.8). Gilreath appears to have punt-return duties locked up.
  • FA Running Back #43
The Colts’ kickoff returner job is Devin Moore’s “to lose” after undrafted free agents Chad Spann and David Gilreath turned in uninspired performances Saturday night.
Spann had trouble holding onto the ball and returned just one of four kicks beyond the 20-yard line. Moore averaged just 21.4 yards per return in four games last season, so he shouldn’t be breathing easily just yet.
