    Packers released CB Demetri Goodson.
Goodson was a semi-regular starter in 2016 but spent all last year on reserve/PUP. He was expendable after the Packres invested early-round picks in Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson. 29-year-old Goodson should draw some free-agent interest.

Packers CB Demetri Goodson (concussion) didn’t practice on Wednesday.
It’s unclear when he got hurt as Goodson played 61-of-63 defensive snaps Sunday against Atlanta. Green Bay’s secondary has been a revolving door all season. At least it looks like the Packers are getting Quinten Rollins back from a groin injury this week.
  • FA Defensive Back
Packers CB Demetri Goodson tore his ACL in Week 11 against the Redskins.
Goodson made two starts earlier this year, but had been limited to special teams since Quinten Rollins returned.
  • FA Defensive Back
Packers CB Demetri Goodson is expected to miss the start of the 2017 season.
Goodson is three months removed from ACL surgery. He’s a strong candidate to open 2017 on the reserve/PUP list. Goodson made a few spot starts before going down last year but should be limited to a subpackage role when healthy.

Packers CB Demetri Goodson is currently running ahead of rookies Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins at OTAs.
Randall is playing with the second team while Rollins is working in the slot. Goodson is getting lots of run at OTAs with Casey Hayward sidelined by a foot injury. Ultimately, Goodson will likely settle in as a special teamer behind first-round pick Randall and second-rounder Rollins.
  • FA Defensive Back
Packers signed sixth-round CB Demetri Goodson to a four-year contract.
The soon-to-be 25-year-old former point guard at Gonzaga will have to earn his keep on special teams. He’s Jets RB Mike Goodson’s younger brother.

Packers selected Baylor CB Demetri Goodson with the No. 197 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Goodson (5-foot-11, 194) played basketball for three seasons at Gonzaga, making 35 starts at point guard before spending three years as a football player at Baylor. The younger brother of Jets RB Mike Goodson, Demetri turns 25 in June. He wound up with four interceptions in 19 college games. Goodson ran 4.52 at the Combine with a 37-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad jump, so his athleticism is a plus. He’s still a long shot to develop into more than a special teamer and sub-package corner. We’d guess Goodson spends 2014 on a practice squad.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel’s Tyler Dunne calls second-year CB Demetri Goodson the Packers’ “best-kept secret.”
Goodson was last year’s 197th overall pick and is already 26 (in June). The 5-foot-11, 197-pounder played college basketball at Gonzaga before taking up football at Baylor. Mike Goodson’s younger brother, Demetri runs 4.52 to go with a 37-inch vertical. With Tramon Williams and Davon House gone via free agency, Goodson has a chance for a major role after playing zero snaps as a rookie.
  • FA Defensive Back
NFL suspended Packers CB Demetri Goodson four games for violating the league’s policy on PEDs.
The 2014 sixth-round pick appeared in 14 games for Green Bay last season, recording 10 tackles and one pass deflection. Goodson will be allowed to participate in all of the Packers’ offseason activities. When Goodson returns, he’ll serve as depth behind starters Sam Shields and Damarious Randall.

Packers placed CB Demetri Goodson (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Goodson never made it back after opening the year on PUP. He had a few spot starts in 2016, but isn’t more than a subpackage corner. An impending free agent, Goodson should be limited to veteran minimum deals this offseason.
