Bengals practice squad LB DeQuin Evans has been suspended four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Undrafted out of Kentucky, Evans was recently placed on the practice squad injured list with a torn labrum in his shoulder. His season was likely over regardless of the suspension.

NFL suspended Bengals DE DeQuin Evans eight games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.

It’s Evans’ second violation, hence eight games instead of four. Getting some run on Hard Knocks, Evans was likely on the outside looking in of the 53-man roster even before his suspension. A 2011 undrafted free agent, he’s never appeared in an NFL game.

Bengals waived LB DeQuin Evans.

Also waived by the Bengals today were FB Fui Vakapuna, RB Jay Finley and CB Brandon Ghee. The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Joe Reedy reports the Bengals are hoping to stash Evans on the practice squad. He’ll have to clear waivers first.
