Fellow reserve defensive back Michael Coe is questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Primarily a special teamer, Martin has 10 tackles. If he’s staring at a multi-week absence, he’ll likely be sent to injured reserve.

Out of the game last season following a catastrophic 2010 knee injury, Huggins is attempting to remake himself as a fullback. He’s only 5-foot-9, 198. A special teamer, Martin made 12 tackles in 14 games for the Giants last season.

The Patriots have been thin in the secondary with Pat Chung and Steve Gregory sidelined. Both Martin and Rivera figure to see time on special teams.

Martin is listed as a safety, but he’s essentially a special teams ace. The Packers expect him to be healthy in time for training camp.

Martin, 28, is a career special teams player.

The journeyman veteran made seven appearances on special teams last season, registering three tackles. He’ll fight for one of the Bears’ final roster spots in training camp.

Martin spent time with the Bears this summer. He’s taking the roster spot of Charles Tillman, who was placed on short-term I.R. with torn triceps Tuesday.

Martin was not present as OTAs got underway this week. The journeyman special teamer will have to earn his roster spot at camp.

Martin, a journeyman special teamer, broke his collarbone in a recent car accident. The Bears needed his roster spot after successfully putting in a waiver claim for former Dolphins OT Michael Ola.

The 5-9 Ivy has been a serviceable third corner, but with Samari Rolle continuing to deal with various injuries, Baltimore’s secondary will use Derrick Martin often and likely remain beatable. The Ravens play Miami in Week 15, Seattle in Week 16, and Pittsburgh in their season finale.
