Mets transferred INF Eduardo Nunez from the 10-day injured list to the 45-day injured list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster and essentially ends his season. Nunez made the Mets’ Opening Day roster, but only appeared in two games before injuring his left knee.

Eduardo Nunez believes he may have hyperextended his knee, Mets manager Luis Rojas said Sunday.
Nunez suffered the injury while legging out an infield single in the eighth inning of Sunday night’s loss to the Braves. He’ll be reevaluated Monday and it’s unclear at this point whether he’ll need an injured list stint. The veteran utility infielder signed a minor league contract with New York in January after a rough 2019.

Eduardo Nunez was removed from Sunday night’s game against the Braves due to an apparent leg injury.
Nunez lunged for the first base bag while legging out an infield single in the bottom of the eighth and landed awkwardly. It looked serious at first, but Nunez eventually climbed to his feet and walked back to the dugout under his own power. There should be more information after the game.

Mets purchased the contract of INF Eduardo Nunez.
The veteran had a solid showing during spring training and summer camp to wedge his way onto the roster. Nunez will operate in a super utility role.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that Eduardo Nunez has made the Mets’ Opening Day roster.
Nunez will serve as a backup infielder. DiComo also notes that Erasmo Ramirez will be on the Mets’ taxi squad rather than their 30-man roster.

Eduardo Nunez tripled in two runs and walked Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Though he hasn’t hit much the last two years, Nunez would seem to have a good chance of making the Mets with Jed Lowrie apparently IL bound. He still has some fantasy upside because of his stolen base ability, but he isn’t due to get that kind of playing time in New York.
