    Raiders waived RB Elijah Hood.
Hood was the Raiders’ only draft pick not to make the 53-man roster. Hood will likely be stashed on the practice squad after getting only eight preseason carries. The Raiders’ entire list of waived or released players can be found at the link below.

    Raiders waived RB Elijah Hood.
He lasted one week on the roster, bringing up the rear of Oakland’s tailback depth chart during Marshawn Lynch’s one-game suspension.

    Raiders waived RB Elijah Hood.
A 2017 seventh-round pick, Hood was spun in some circles as a potential heir apparent for Marshawn Lynch. Hood struggled in camp and preseason, however, and couldn’t get on the field as a rookie. The Raiders saw more potential in undrafted rookie backs behind Lynch, Doug Martin, DeAndre Washington, and Jalen Richard.

Raiders selected North Carolina RB Elijah Hood with the No. 242 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Hood (6’0/232) turned pro as a junior after starting for two years in Chapel Hill, logging a career 430-2,580-29 (6.0 YPC) rushing line with 40 receptions. He ran 4.63/4.64 at the Tar Heels’ Pro Day and is a below-par overall athlete. A straight-line grinder back who lacks elusiveness and long speed, Hood’s NFL ceiling is likely as a short-yardage specialist or late-game clock killer.

Raiders seventh-rounder Elijah Hood reportedly “turned the heads of the offensive staff” at rookie minicamp.
At 6-foot, 232, Hood will serve as the direct backup to 31-year-old Marshawn Lynch this season, while Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington stay in change-up roles. Hood averaged 6.0 career yards per carry at North Carolina.

Raiders signed seventh-round RB Elijah Hood, seventh-round DT Treyvon Hester and seventh-round OT Jylan Ware to four-year contracts.
Seventh-round S Shalom Luani also signed earlier today. Oakland now has all four of its seventh-rounders under contract. Ware ran an impossible 4.99 forty at 6'8/317 while Hood is slated for a backup role behind lead back Marshawn Lynch. The Raiders have signed most of their draft class but are still waiting on first-round CB Gareon Conley, second-round S Obi Melifonwu and third-round DT Eddie Vanderdoes.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders signed RB Elijah Hood to their practice squad.
A seventh-round rookie out of North Carolina, Hood never made a move on DeAndre Washington or Jalen Richard during the preseason, and the Raiders value Jamize Olawale’s superior versatility as a No. 4 back.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders signed RB Elijah Hood off their practice squad.
The Raiders needed a running back with Marshawn Lynch suspended for Week 8. Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington are expected to lead the backfield Sunday at Buffalo.

Raiders signed RB Elijah Hood, DL Fadol Brown, DB Darius Hillary, WR Keon Hatcher, S Tevin Mitchell, DE Joby Saint Fleuer, OL Jordan Simmons, DL Shakir Soto and LS Bradley Northnagel to reserve/future contracts.
A seventh-round rookie, Hood was briefly on the 53-man roster. Still only 22 (in April), he could get one more long look next summer.

    Jaguars signed RB Elijah Hood.
Hood missed all of 2018 to a torn ACL. With Alfred Blue (ankle) sidelined, he’ll give the Jaguars some depth.
