Giants agreed to terms with No. 225 overall pick G Eric Herman on a four-year contract.
Herman has NFL-size at 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, but has stubby 32 1/4-inch arms. He managed 36 bench-press reps at the Combine, but is not a high-end athlete, even for a guard. The Giants are undertaking a youth movement along their offensive line, but Herman’s best bet is the practice squad.

Giants selected Ohio G Eric Herman with the No. 225 overall pick.
Herman (6-foot-4 1/8, 320) started 51 games for the Bobcats, mostly at right guard. Short arms (32 1/4") will keep Herman on the interior in the pros. At the Combine, Herman repped 225 pounds 36 times on the bench but was below average in athletic testing. The Giants continue to try to get younger on the interior of their line with Chris Snee entering his age-31 season.

NFL suspended Giants OG Eric Herman four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
Herman, the 225th pick in last year’s draft, spent his rookie season on the practice squad. He claims the suspension resulted from medication he takes for a “condition.” Herman can return in Week 5 if he makes the team.
