Rockies recalled INF Adael Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Amador will get his first chance at MLB action after forging an .802 OPS with Albuquerque along with 11 homers and 11 steals on 18 attempts. The 23-year-old has been awful in his limited chances in the majors with a career .492 OPS, but he’ll get a chance to show why he was once considered among the best prospects in the Colorado system.

Korn Ferry document could shake up Flores case
Mike Florio explores recent revelations surrounding the search firm Korn Ferry and its role in providing documents to Brian Flores's lawyer, ones that could potentially include a "smoking gun" piece of evidence.

Amador also drew three walks on a day where the Rockies were able to compile a whopping 10 of them. It’s the first MLB homer of the season for Amador in his second game of the season, and just his second in 53 career games. Amador is not long removed from being a top prospect and is still just 23 until next April, but obviously fantasy managers should remain skeptical until he can do this on a more consistent basis.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #1
Amador enjoyed a strong Triple-A season last year, hitting .303/.405/.478 with 11 home runs and 20 steals in 80 games. He has not been able to carry that over in his 164 MLB plate appearances, but he’s likely to get another chance early in 2026.
  • COL Infield #1
Amador was banished to Triple-A after criticizing the Rockies on social media last August, but he should have another chance now to compete for what should be a wide open second base job with Willi Castro (who can play anywhere), Edouard Julien, Ryan Ritter and maybe Tyler Freeman. Of course, today’s showing won’t help. He’s 4-for-17 with a homer and two steals so far.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #1
The move comes a day after he criticized Rockies ownership on social media. Amador has been up-and-down more than your typical 22-year-old, and he’ll head back to Albuquerque with Ryan Ritter (finger) back for the Rockies. Amador has fantasy upside, but there’s clearly a ways to go before he fulfills it.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #1
Even if Thairo Estrada can come back from his latest injury, it’s probably time for the Rockies to commit to Amador at second base and see if he’s a potential 2026 regular. The 22-year-old hasn’t excelled thus far, hitting .184/.273/.276 in 112 plate appearances.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #1
Amador is sent back to Triple-A with Thairo Estrada (thumb) reinstated off the injured list. The 22-year-old still offers some long-term upside, but doesn’t offer fantasy relevance in 2025.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #1
Amador returns to the majors ahead of Sunday’s contest against the Twins with versatile infielder Ryan Ritter hitting the injured list with a finger laceration. The 22-year-old former prospect has struggled to find his footing at the highest level, batting .153 (19-for-124) with one homer and two steals in 43 games for the Rockies over the last two seasons.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #1
The Rockies agreed to terms with Orlando Arcia earlier in the week, so it seems likely that he’ll be joining the big league roster on Friday, with Amador’s demotion clearing the way for him. The 22-year-old infielder was hitting a putrid .146/.240/.225 with one homer, five RBI and a 25/10 K/BB ratio in 102 plate appearances. He’ll return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level where he’ll hopefully get back on track.
  • FA Shortstop #11
MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand and Thomas Harding have also confirmed the initial report. Arica was released over the weekend by Atlanta after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 30-year-old’s offensive numbers were abysmal this season, but the fact that his defensive metrics have tumbled off the metaphorical cliff are what seem to have sealed his fate. It’s unclear how he fits into Colorado’s plans with Ezequiel Tovar locked in at shortstop, but he presumably will get a look at second base where prospect Adael Amador has underachieved so far.

Amador also appeared to throw his glove at a Paul Goldschmidt liner over his head, which might have gotten him a little talking to in the dugout. The 22-year-old Amador figures to return to Triple-A once Thairo Estrada’s rehab assignment is complete.

Robert Murray of FanSided reports that the Phillies are signing Nestor Cortes (arm) to a one-year deal.

Cortes will get an MLB deal, which makes sense considering the deal will be prorated and there’s not much season left. The southpaw has not pitched since 2025 after undergoing surgery in the middle of October that year. While he has a starting background, there isn’t much time for to build into that role. A muti-inning option out of the bullpen for the remainder of 2026.

Mets interim manager Andy Green told reporters that Jorge Polanco is likely to undergo surgery on his ankle.

Polanco was placed on the injured list before Wednesday’s game against the Padres with ankle bursitis. The 33-year-old has had a disastrous first season with the Mets that has seen him deal with injuries and ineffectiveness when available. If he does undergo the operation, it will all but assuredly mean he’s played his last game in 2026. That may be true, either way.

Cody Bellinger (hamstring) could return to the lineup for the Yankees by Sunday.

Bellinger will play Thursday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. If that game — and likely at least one more contest — goes well, the 31-year-old could be back for the series finale Sunday against the Blue Jays. Even Bellinger needs a day or two more in the minors, it’s a positive development for the Yankees and fantasy managers.

Luis Robert Jr. is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s tilt against the Padres.

Robert will get a break for the series finale against San Diego. Brett Baty will play in left field with Robert out, and A.J. Ewing will get the start in center.

Chris Cotillo of MassLive reports that the Phillies are currently discussing a potential deal with Nestor Cortes (biceps).

Cortes has been out for all of 2026 while recovering from surgery on his left arm. There’s no guarantee that the 31-year-old will be able to pitch in 2026, but he could be a potential multi-inning option for the final month — and potentially the postseason — for Philadelphia.

Mets recalled RHP Chayce McDermott from Triple-A Syracuse.

McDermott gives the Mets a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. He takes the roster spot of Jack Weisenburger, who was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction.

Mets recalled INF Eric Wagaman from Triple-A Syracuse.

Wagaman is up with Jorge Polanco (ankle) once again being placed on the injured list due to his ankle issue. Wagaman will likely see some time over the final month-plus, but it’s hard to see much fantasy significance in his profile.

Mets optioned RHP Jack Weisenburger to Triple-A Syracuse.

Weisenburger threw 1 1/3 innings during Tuesday’s game against the Mets, so New York will bring up a fresh arm for the bullpen. Weisenburger seems to be a likely candidate for promotion when rosters expand.

Mets placed INF Jorge Polanco on the 10-day injured list with left ankle bursitis.

Lower body issues have plagued Polanco throughout the season — and really, for much of his career — and the 33-year-old will once again hit the shelf due to the ankle troubles. The 33-year-old could return at some point near September, but this is a lost first season for Polanco with the Metropolitans.

Sean Newcomb will get the start in Wednesday’s game against the Cubs.

Newcombe has a starting background and has worked multiple innings several times in 2026, but he will give way to Jose Urquidy as the bulk reliever after throwing just an inning or two against the Pale Hose.
