To clear a 40-man roster spot, the Royals are making a trade with the Mariners, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. No word on who that involves, but LHP Ángel Zerpa and INF/OF Samad Taylor might be a couple of possibilities. Frazier is guaranteed $4.5 million under the terms of the deal; he’ll get $2 million this year and then either $8.5 million or a $2.5 million buyout on his mutual option for 2025. It sounds like the Royals still intend to give Michael Massey another crack at the starting job at second base, but this gives them a viable fallback in case Massey struggles again.

The 33-year-old southpaw didn’t walk a batter in the contest while striking out three. The Rockies scratched out a single run against him in the fourth inning, then Kyle Karros tagged him for a solo homer in the sixth inning. Rodriguez got 12 swings and misses on 92 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 18 percent. He wraps up a tremendous bounce-back season with a 16-7 record, 2.89 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 143/62 K/BB ratio across 189 2/3 innings in 32 starts.

Carrigg tagged right-hander Dennis Santana for a 404-foot (105.7-mph EV) three-run blast in the seventh inning that pulled the Rockies to within six runs at 12-6. He also singled three times in the ballgame. The 24-year-old has had a solid rookie campaign, slashing .276/.340/.469 with 11 homers, 51 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 361 plate appearances.

Yikes. Gordon also issued four walks on the afternoon while recording one strikeout. The Diamondbacks jumped on him right out of the gate in this one, using home runs from Gabriel Moreno and Nolan Arenado to put up a six-spot in the first inning. They added another pair in the second and two more while chasing him in the fourth. Gordon got three swings and misses on 96 pitches on the day, posting a miserable CSW of 22 percent. He finishes his 2026 season with a 1-6 record, 6.68 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and an 85/24 K/BB ratio over 103 2/3 innings in 24 appearances (12 starts).

Suzuki got the Cubs on the board and tied the score in the fifth inning with a 408-foot (106.1-mph EV) solo shot in the fifth inning. He also singled and walked in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 2-for-3. For the season, the 32-year-old slugger is now slashing a healthy .270/.366/.476 with 26 long balls and 86 RBI.

He joins Shohei Ohtani (2024), Ronald Acuna Jr. (2023), Alfonso Soriano (2006), Alex Rodriguez (1998), Barry Bonds (1996) and Jose Canseco (1988) to accomplish the remarkable feat. Soon he’s likely to add a National League MVP award to his list of honors. Crow-Armstrong finished the afternoon 1-for-3 with a walk and a single and is now slashing a robust .280/.373/.575 to go with 45 homers, 107 RBI, 119 runs scored and 40 stolen bases in what has been an exceptional season.

Zeferjahn made it look awfully easy in this one, needing just nine pitches (seven strikes) to retire Agustin Ramirez, Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine in order. The right-hander now boasts a 3.88 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 94/40 K/BB ratio across 69 2/3 innings on the season while recording seven saves.

Boyd walked two batters on the day while punching out three. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single off the bat of Jakob Marsee in the third inning. Aside from that, Boyd was in complete control. The 35-year-old southpaw got nine whiffs on 90 pitches on the day, registering a CSW of 24 percent. He finishes the regular season with a 10-5 record, 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 96/39 K/BB ratio over 126 2/3 innings in his 22 starts.

Marsee smacked an RBI single off of Matthew Boyd in the third inning that gave the Marlins an early 1-0 lead. That would be the extent of their scoring in the contest though. Marsee has been swinging a very hot bat over the past month and is now slashing .230/.347/.356 with 11 homers, 41 RBI and 23 stolen bases (in 35 attempts) over 608 plate appearances on the season.

Phillips walked four batters in the ballgame while striking out a pair. The Cubs put plenty of traffic on the basepaths against him in his four innings, but weren’t able to get a key hit to plate any of those runners. He got 11 swings and misses on 73 offerings on the day, registering a CSW of 30 percent. Phillips finishes the season with a solid 3.34 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 101/56 K/BB ratio over 126 2/3 innings of work in his 37 appearances (20 starts).

The 25-year-old isn’t expected to catch again this season, but he will be able to function as a bench bat for the Dodgers over the final weekend of the regular season and into the playoffs. Rushing has been shelved since September 5 due to discomfort in his throwing elbow.
