Chase Dollander left Thursday’s game with the training staff after completing one inning and was diagnosed with right arm tightness.

Dollander shook his throwing arm out a bit after a second-inning walk, talked to the manager and training staff, then departed. He allowed three runs in the first inning, though one of them came because the Rockies botched what should have been a routine flyout to left field, and didn’t strike out any before leaving. The Rockies should update his status in the near future, but it didn’t look good.

Brooks, who was designated for assignment on Friday, passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra pitching depth for the Rays at the Triple-A level. He gave up three earned runs in 1/3 of an innings in his lone appearance with the big league club.

Rays recalled INF Carson Williams from Triple-A Durham.

Williams has struggled in his limited action with the Rays this season, hitting just .130 (3-for-23) with zero homers, three RBI and a 9/1 K/BB ratio. He’s unlikely to see enough playing time this time around to warrant consideration in mixed leagues.

Rays placed OF Jake Fraley on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 16, with a hernia.

The 30-year-old outfielder was scratched from the Rays’ lineup on Saturday due to the injury and will be shelved for at least a couple of weeks. As anticipated, Carson Williams was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move to take his place on the Rays’ active roster.

Casey Schmitt

SF Designated Hitter #10

Casey Schmitt finished 4-for-5 with two homers and three RBI Saturday in the Giants’ 6-4 victory against the A’s.

Just when it looked like Schmitt might be in line to lose some playing time with Bryce Eldridge up, he responded with his best game to date this season. The homers off Luis Severino were his seventh and eighth of the year. He entered the night 3-for-24 in his last seven games, but he just hasn’t done anything to signal that he’s about to lose his usefulness in shallow leagues.

Trevor McDonald

SF Starting Pitcher #72

Trevor McDonald picked up a win Saturday after limiting the A’s to one run in 6 2/3 innings.

McDonald gave up 11 hard-hit balls but only five hits, none of which turned into more than doubles. He moved to 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA, which could make things interesting when Logan Webb returns. He doesn’t seem like a particularly good bet going forward, but neither does Aridan Houser nor Tyler Mahle. As things stand now, McDonald should start again next week against the White Sox.

Matt Gage

SF Relief Pitcher #93
Matt Gage protected a two-run lead in the ninth for his first MLB save Saturday against the A’s.

Erik Miller and Caleb Kilian combined to turn a five-run lead into a two-run lead in the eighth, setting up the save chance for Gage in the ninth. Gage wound up retiring all three batters he faced for an easy save in a two-run game. Kilian, Miller and Keaton Winn are probably all still ahead of him in line for saves in San Francisco.

Luis Severino

ATH Starting Pitcher #40

Luis Severino took his fifth loss after giving up five runs in six innings Saturday against the Giants.

Casey Schmitt hit a pair homers off him. Aside from that, Severino struck out seven and walked two. He’s been perfectly adequate in going 2-5 with a 4.45 ERA, but things will get interesting in July with the A’s probably in the mix for a playoff spot but Severino also typically struggling while being asked to pitch in Sacramento. He does have a decent matchup next week on the road against the Angels.

Jo Adell

LAA Right Fielder #7

Jo Adell drove in two runs with a double in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.

Adell drove in the only two runs of the game for the Angels on a double off Justin Wrobleski. He would have needed to do that six more times for Los Angeles to get within a run. Adell also drew a pair of walks and has put together a solid slash of .266/.313/.401 in 2026.

Mookie Betts

LAD Shortstop #50

Mookie Betts homered and reached three times in a blowout win Saturday over the Angels.

Betts launched a solo homer off Alek Manoah in the eighth to make it 10-2 in the eighth inning. It’s just the fourth homer of the season for Betts, but it’s worth noting that those have come in just 12 games for the 33-year-old veteran. Betts should be a solid — if at times volatile — fantasy option in 2026.
