Welcome to Playing the Tips!
Each week this will be the one-stop resource to soak in all the picks from our fantasy staffers at Rotoworld.com.
Page 1 is going to look at Daily Fantasy Sports picks (FanDuel, Yahoo, and DraftKings).
Page 2 will have a look at One-and-Done options as well as PGATOUR.com’s fantasy game.

Daily Fantasy Sports [DFS]
I will be giving out selections for one team for each DFS site, per week.
These lineups will be entered into a large-entry Guaranteed Prize Pool. That means we need to take a risk or two, in order to separate ourselves from the field.
The idea is to provide you a list of names to consider. I would not recommend copying these teams, golfer for golfer. Duplicate teams are no fun and don’t help anyone.
FanDuel Picks:
Patrick Cantlay ($11,300): The Cali native missed the cut in his 2013 debut at this event. He’s in a totally different stratosphere as he arrives this year ranked 19th in the OWGR.
Zach Johnson ($10,300): Was baffled by the new course rota with missed cuts in 2016 and 2017. Figured it out last year with a T20 here. Was shaking off the cobwebs last week and couldn’t overcome a slow start.
Adam Hadwin ($10,700): The Canadian has posted finishes of T6-RUNNERUP-T3 when playing the current course rotation. That includes the 2017 edition when he twirled a 59 in R3.
Ryan Palmer ($10,200): Give him easy pin placements and he’s going to feast. He’s posted top 20s in five of his last six trips to this event.
Harris English ($7,500): Snagged a top 25 at the Sony Open last week. He’s a perfect 5-for-5 at the Desert Classic including a T11 last year.
Lucas Glover ($9,800): He’s 9-for-10 at this event with five top 25s to his name.
DraftKings Picks:
Jon Rahm ($11,600): Stormed out of the gate with a 10-under 62 here last year before winning the event by week’s end. A recent win at the Hero World Challenge suggests he’s trending up.
Bill Haas ($7,400): The leading money winner at this event. He’s very comfy in the Coachella Valley. I’m not expecting a win but a top 30 should be in the cards.
Chris Kirk ($7,200): He’s trying to snap out of a slump with no top 30s since the Wyndham Championship last August. On the bright side he’s managed his game enough to rattle off cuts made in 6 of his last 8 starts since that T11 at the Wyndham. Just trying to save salary with this pick.
Brian Harman ($8,800): Harman rarely works out when he’s popular so I’m going to the well in the middle of his slump. What’s attractive? He teamed up with Patton Kizzire to win the QBE Shootout in December and he also has three straight top 20s here.
Anirban Lahiri ($7,300): It’s hard to narrow in his course-fit angles but short and easy courses have been good to him. That includes a pair of top 30s here in Palm Springs.
Zach Johnson ($7,700): Should be lower owned after a missed cut last week. I like his chances to bounce back and snag a top 25.
Yahoo Picks:
Charles Howell III ($38): This is the time of year when CH3 pads his bank account. He’s still beaming with confidence after the win in the fall. Has six top 20s at this event.
Russell Henley ($34): Has all the tools to contend in a birdiefest he just hasn’t done it here yet. He’s gone T56-T49-MC in three tries which should leave him underowned.
Sungjae Im ($32): The sky is the limit for this 20-year-old Korean. When I previewed the Web.com Tour grads I said that shorter courses would fit his game which is exactly what we have this week in Palm Springs.
Hudson Swafford ($26): Arrives with 10 straight cuts made and he’s a past champ at this event with that win coming just two years ago.
Brian Harman ($35): I was excited about his team win at the QBE Shootout but he didn’t run with it last week as he missed the cut in Hawaii. Luckily he didn’t fit into my lineup builds last week but I will go to the well this week since he’s finished T20 or better in all three editions with the current course conditions.
Scott Piercy ($32): He settled for T33 last week at the Sony but he was 4th in SG Approach and also racked up three eagles.
