From the late wave at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, R1 co-leader and World No. 38 Patrick fired his second consecutive 4-under 66 (32-34) to reach the midpoint on 8-under 132, down three spots to solo 4th, one back.
The Texas native and resident will be in the penultimate pairing in R3 with World No. 1, Dallas resident and R1/R2 co-leader Scottie Scheffler (65), scheduled for 1:50 pm local. He’s vying for a 10th TOUR victory in 265 events, first since last season’s Farmers Insurance Open 35 starts ago, where he was a 54-hole co-leader, shot 4-under 68 and won by five (64-72-70-68). On eight (of 14) fairways and 12 greens in regulation, the 31-year-old camouflaged one bogey-5 at hole 4 (failed sand save) with five birdies at 2, 3, 7, 9 and 17, three from between 12 and 23 feet. At the halfway mark, he’s totaled 10 birdies against two bogeys and ranks 3rd SG: Tee-to-Green (6.660) and 23rd SG: Putting (1.947), including a 2.318 SGP in R2. See link below to post-round comments.
